CPF has the following goals:

  • Raising public awareness about the value of learning French as a second language
  • Promoting the availability and quality of French second language programs (both core French and French immersion) in schools across Canada
  • Providing information and support to parents
  • Providing out-of-school activities in French to enhance classroom learning
  • Monitoring and responding to issues and actions which affect second language learning opportunities

About CPF: Canadian Parents for French is an organization that links the community of “learning French” together. It is designed to positively connect parents in the learning process as well as promote the learning of the second language. It promotes the French language and culture across the nation with chapters in all areas. This site is specific to the Northeast Avalon region in Newfoundland and Labrador. It stems from St. John’s (the province’s capital). There is a total of 12 chapters in the province.CPF is supported by various members of the community-students, teachers, parents and anyone else interested.
